Well after all that,  on my second trip back to the apartment this afternoon, the doorman finally had a permission to enter on file and I went up to the 2nd floor and was given the keys. Whew! The kitties are just fine and were very sweet and friendly when I arrived. They were also both ready to eat, so I served up their canned food  ( found Snowflakes stash in the fridge too).  Sprinkes ate hers all up immediately and Snowflake ate about half and walked off. Then Sprinkes decided to eat Snowflakes. I moved her away and Snowflake eventually came back for a bit more. Also put a bit more kibble in the feeder as it seemed to be getting a bit low.  So all's well and more tomorrow!
